commodity code
A unique symbol used to identify a particular commodity traded on CME for purposes of submitting data into the Clearing System. This code should not be confused with the ticker symbol, which is the code denoting which commodity price is being quoted. Chicago Mercantile Exchange Glossary
The code that identifies the description of individual goods or items in the Tariff. The full code is either 10 or 14 digits long, but for many purposes only the first 4 or 8 digits are used. Also referred to as Combined Nomenclature ( CN) code. HM Customs & Revenue Glossary
